Student Group
HBCUvc
HBCUvc is a student-led venture capital fund dedicated to Historically Black College or University student and alumni founders. We provided non-dilutive equity funding to a select group of high-growth technology-based startups every year. Also, we've held events and fundraising to teach and support student entrepreneurs. Finally, we run an internship program and fellowship to teach students how to be venture investors.
DRF is a student-run venture capital fund, backed by First Round Capital, that invests pre-seed/seed into student founders across the nation. There are four regions: SF Bay Area, Boston, NYC, and Philadelphia. DRF is sector agnostic with a wide range of companies that have gone on to raise from Sequoia, GV, First Round Capital, etc.
The Entrepreneurship Academy helps students create their own business opportunities or become innovative thinkers and problem-solvers at established companies. Ultimately, the academy strives to become the “go to” resource for entrepreneurship among Bowie State University faculty, students and alumni. This university-wide initiative is made possible by a team of faculty, Bowie State students, alumni, businesses and donors shaping the next generation of entrepreneurial leaders.
